Product Information Queries:
- What
is 925 sterling silver?
Pure 100% silver looks bright white and is extremely soft. To
enhance its beauty and durability, the vast majority of fine
silver jewelry is made of sterling silver, which is composed
of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper alloy which endows the jewellery
with its required strength. The 925 stamp found on each piece
indicates the quality of the silver and its compliance with
international standards.
- Are all
of your products sterling silver?
Yes, if in the description says silver means that is made up
of 925 genuine sterling silver. But We do sell other products
and base material has clearly mentioned in our product description
column.
- How do
I know the purity of my sterling silver jewelry?
The purity of sterling silver refers to 92.5% of silver in the
alloy. In order to confirm the purity, the metal itself has
to be sent to a laboratory to be tested. Each and every pieces
of our silver jewelry has 925 stamp to assure and guarantee
its quality. However, we can issue certificate from reputed
Assay silver testing laboratory with additional charges.

Cleaning, Caring and storing in your Jewelry Queries:
- How do
I clean sterling silver jewelry?
Usually, it is sufficient to use a jewelry cloth (with two layers
of cloths in different colors) that you can buy from our store.
Don't use any hard object to clean sterling silver jewelry;
even paper towel could scratch the surface. You should rub any
dirt off using a jewelry cloth, not fingernails. Silver-dip
is another commonly used sterling silver jewelry cleaner, which
can also be obtained from a jewelry store. The entire silver
jewelry is immersed in the solution for half a minute to a minute
and then rinsed with water.
You can do it by yourself: watch video the demo Click here or
copy and paste the below link in your browser:

- How do
I clean my jewelry?
Caring and Cleaning Sterling Silver Jewelry
Never dip any silver jewelry in any kind of commercial cleaning
solutions even though it may say that it is for silver jewelry.
This is definitely not recommended for any stones.
We do not recommend cleaning your jewelry with toothpaste
and a toothbrush as you will be scratching the silver although
dish liquid soap and a soft cloth are okay to use.
The best way to clean your jewelry is with a professional
jewelry polishing cloth. The cloth is treated with cleaning
chemicals and not only will the cloth last a long time. Simply
rub the part gently with the cloth and you will really be
amazed how effective these cloths are!
You can buy the clothes at Wal-Mart, Target, drugstores,
jewelry stores, or at our site.
It is best to keep your jewelry in a fabric-lined case or
a box that has individual compartments. If you cannot do this,
keep it in a dry place (bathroom not recommended). Moisture
causes silver to tarnish quicker.
- How do
I care for jewelry?
We highly recommend cleaning your Native American jewelry and
silver jewelry with a polishing cloth and storing your jewelry
in a jeweler's zip lock bag to prevent tarnish. Soft clothes
and tissue may also be used. Your stones should be kept away
from harsh chemicals, cleaning detergents and heat. Some stones
can be permanently damaged if cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner:
amber, coral, turquoise, lapis, opal, pearl. We have found the
best cleaner that is safe for your gemstones to be Hagerty Silversmith's
Spray Polish.
Stones should be occasionally checked. If the stones are
loose and wiggle, some simple repairs can be made by the owner.
By placing a tiny amount of glue, such as Sobo - polyvinyl
acetate emulsion, between the edges of a loosened stone and
its bezel will help secure the stone. The edges of the bezel
can be gently pressed in around the loosened stone, also,
to help tighten the setting. If your stone comes completely
out, the stone needs to be reset by an experienced jeweler
or silversmith. Avoid excess bending of bracelets and most
inlay bracelets can not be stretched or bent. With proper
care, you should have a lifetime of enjoyment.
How can
I keep my sterling silver jewellery in good condition?
" Keeping your jewllery shiny and glistening does not take
much effort. We recommend the following:
" Regularly clean your jewellery with a special cloth (available
for purchase at Magnolia branches).
" We recommend showering with your jewellery on. Soapy
running water keeps the jewellery clean and prevents it from
blackening.
" However, swimming in the sea or a swimming pool with
your jewellery on is not recommended. Salt water and chlorine
can damage silver.
" Keeping your jewellery in a jewellery box, a closed drawer
or a small bag will keep it from blackening and prevent it from
getting scratched.
" Keep jewellery away from chemical substances (including
lotions and perfumes) that can damage silver.
- Where
do I store sterling silver jewelry?
It is very important to store sterling silver jewelry properly
when it is not being used.
If you expect not to wear a certain piece for a long time, put
it in an air-tight bag ( a zip lock bag works well)and store
it in a drawer.
- My jewellery
is tarnishing; what should I do?
"Blackening" is a natural process that occurs in silver
as a result of oxidation. You may find that in summer your jewellery
tarnishes faster due to the acidity of sweat and the humidity
in the air. You can clean your jewellery with a special detergent
for sterling silver jewellery or with a jewellery cleaning cloth
.
- Can I
prevent tarnish from forming?
You won't necessarily be able to prevent tarnish from forming,
but there are a few ways you can significantly delay the formation
of tarnish.
The best way is to wear your sterling silver jewelry frequently.
The oils in your skin will "clean" the sterling
silver every time you wear a piece.
The second best way to delay tarnishing is to store sterling
silver in an airtight container, preferably with an anti-tarnish
strip (a specially formulated material that absorbs moisture).
Anti-tarnish strips are available at Aquablue and are included
with every sterling silver jewelry purchase.
While it may not look as pretty, plastic zip-top bags are
the best container to use to store your jewelry. A jewelry
box with a tight-fitting lid is also a good option.
I store my jewelry in a kraft jewelry box (like your jewelry
purchase from Aquablue comes in) and wear the jewelry frequently.
I have not had any of my personal jewelry, which I've had
for up to a year, tarnish at all. In fact, it is incredibly
shiny with this limited very limited amount of care.
- What
is tarnish, why is my Sterling Silver Tarnishing and how do
I take care of it?
Copper, the other metal often used in Sterling Silver can react
with oxygen in the air and can cause tarnishing. To prevent
tarnishing, store your Sterling Silver jewelry in airtight bags
when not in use. The best way to prevent tarnishing is to wear
your Sterling Silver jewelry frequently.
Pure silver is not susceptible to tarnish. However, the copper
that is contained in sterling silver may react to the oxygen
in the air and cause sterling silver to tarnish. Perfumes, hair
sprays, and profuse sweating can also cause a quicker formation
of tarnish. Tarnish can easily be removed with a specially treated
polishing cloth (such as the Sunshine cloths available at Aquablue)
and the sterling will look brand new again.
Chains may require a little more work to clean with a polishing
cloth. A sterling silver cleaning dip (available at the jewelry
counter at retailers such as Target) works very well to clean
the nooks and crannies of sterling chains. However, any stones
or pieces of the jewelry that have been stamped and then oxidized
(darkened) should NEVER be dipped! The stones may be ruined
and the darkened areas of stamped pieces will not be dark
anymore if these areas are dipped in silver cleaner. Clean
those areas of the piece with a Sunshine cloth only!
